Hearing It When Your Ready
I previously spoke on advice. About how advice is just advice. You can give it, but that doesn't mean that anyone has to take it. Today though, I was thinking about how awesome it is when its time to refrain back to that information that you heard. How many times throughout our lives have we heard our parents and grandparents say the same ol things over and over again. Something so nostalgic in the way that we can hear these things over and over again and never care or pay attention to them. But as soon as we need it, we go back to it, and it exactly what we need to hear sometimes. My dad always always always use to tell me before I left the house, "don't get caught up in anyone else's mess." And of course like any teen/young adult, I would brush it off and just hurry out of the door. Then finally I was with a group of friends, and got the feeling that they were not the people I should be surrounding myself with. Then when they started to make plans to do something I was totally not down for, that's when it clicked what he had always been telling me. I realized that if I was to be with them when these plans play out, that would 100% be me getting caught up in someone else's mess. And what I learned now is that it is really all about hearing things when you are ready. Whether a person says the perfect thing right in the moment or you hear someone's voice play back in your head. That's truly what makes all the difference. Always say what you need to say, I will click one day.
